The Red Sox avoided arbitration and have come to terms with outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury and closer Jonathan Papelbon, according to a league source.
Papelbon will earn $12 million, while Ellsbury will bank $2.4 million under one-year deals.
With the deals done, general manager Theo Epstein keeps his record in tact of never having an arbitration hearing during his tenure in Boston.
