Chris Carpenter isn't signed past this season, but he isn't worried about his future in St. Louis.
The Cardinals have a club option on his contract worth $15 million.
If Albert Pujols is signed to a long-term extension, St. Louis may become unlikely to exercise Carpenter's option.
"It has been brought up," Carpenter said.
"It has been talked about -- I'm not going to lie about it -- inside of my family. But I have no concerns. I have no extra pressure. That stuff, it doesn't bother me. My only goal this year is to be healthy, to be consistent every fifth day every time I get the ball, and do the best I can."
