Chris Archer was traded to the Rays as part of the deal that sent Matt Garza to the Cubs.
"It's a little bit bittersweet," said Archer.
"At the end of the day I know it's a business. As a Minor Leaguer, that's a part of the business. They're going to take three or four or five guys and trade them for a couple of guys. I understand that and I'm just happy to be a part of the Rays now and do my best to help that team win and help them be successful."
Archer came to the Rookie Career Development Program this past week representing the Cubs organization, but left early to officially become part of the Rays.
"It's awesome, being a major piece in any trade is cool," said Archer.
"For it to be for a No. 1 starter, it makes you feel pretty good. I'm not saying I feel secure by any means, because I have a lot of work to do, but you definitely go in with your head held high. It's definitely not a bad thing."
