The Giants cut Tyler Walker and recalled Brian Wilson from Triple-A Fresno. Wilson is a 24-year-old right-hander who throws 95 mph. The Giants designated Walker for assignment, giving them 10 days to trade or waive him. The Giants hope he clears waivers and goes to Fresno, although he has the right to decline an outright assignment and become a free agent. The Giants talked to teams about Walker in spring training and are expected to try to deal him in the next couple of days. Walker got the news after Saturday night's 6-4 victory over Colorado. "The paradox is, I was going to bring him in to save the game last night," manager Felipe Alou said. "I had (Armando) Benitez maybe facing one more guy."
