Trevor Hoffman, baseball's all-time saves leader, is thrilled to have reached the 600-mark this past season with his status for 2011 in doubt.
Hoffman knows he can pitch physically, but isn't sure about the mental aspect or if a team will give him a chance to do so.
He notched his 600th save on Sept. 7.
"I would have been really miserable right now had I not been able to get there," Hoffman said. "That's for sure."
Hoffman struggled in 2010, entering the season with 591 saves.
