Derek Jeter and the Yankees have agreed to a three-year contract, worth between $45 million and $51 million.
The deal is currently pending a physical.
Jeter's new contract includes a complicated fourth-year vesting option for the 2014 season.
New York's initial offer was for $45 million over three seasons.
Jeter finally lowered his demands to get a deal done, as the shortstop was initially seeking a five- or six-year deal worth $22-24 million annually.
Jeter just completed a 10-year, $189 million contract that he signed before the 2001 season.
