Yankee executives met with Derek Jeter's agent, Casey Close, Tuesday to re-open talks between the team and its free-agent shortstop, according to a source. This is the second face-to-face meeting the two sides have had to discuss Jeter's future. The source wouldn't clarify which New York officials were at the meeting and it isn't known whether Jeter was present. "I feel confident that Derek will remain with the Yankees, and my brother does, as well," New York's co-chairman Hank Steinbrenner said Tuesday night.
