Free-agent shortstop Derek Jeter and his agent, Casey Close, desire a six-year, $150 million contract, according to a report in The New York Daily News.
Jeter and Close aren't budging on their desire for $25 million annually.
The Yankees recently offered Jeter a three-year, $45 million deal.
Both sides of the negotiations have admitted that the talks have gotten "messy."
