Hal Steinbrenner insists that contract negotiations with free-agent shortstop Derek Jeter are "not personal." Steinbrenner refused to discuss reports that New York wants to sign Jeter to a three-year, $63 million deal, but the shortstop wants a four-year contract. "We're working hard at it," Steinbrenner said. "It's definitely a big deal. I'm happy with the tenor of things. I think there's mutual respect on both sides. There's a lot of history there."
