The Yankees will keep Joba Chamberlain in the bullpen regardless of whether or not they are able to upgrade their starting rotation this winter.
"Joba to the pen," New York general manager Brian Cashman said. "We made that decision after spring training. We're not looking to put it back. We told him in the spring, 'You're a reliever now.' That's it. He's a reliever, that's our attitude."
That decision won't change, even if the Yankees aren't able to sign Cliff Lee and Andy Pettitte opts to retire.
