Riggleman signed a two-year deal with the club before last season, and the team needed to notify him if it was going to buy out the second year. But the Nationals announced that Riggleman will be back after the team increased its win total from 59 to 69 in 2010, which still resulted in a third consecutive last-place finish in the NL East.
