Yankees left-handed reliever Damaso Marte has had surgery to repair inflammation in his throwing shoulder and won't be able to pick up a baseball until after the 2011 All-Star Break.
Marte's procedure was performed by Reds team surgeon, Dr. Tim Kremchek in Cincinnati.
He is reportedly set to make $4 million next season and the Yankees hold a team option for the 2012 season.
