Former Rangers owner Tom Hicks says he regrets the $252 million contract he gave infielder Alex Rodriguez a decade ago.
"I've done some smart things," Hicks told KTVT-TV Channel 11 in Dallas. "I've done some dumb things. That was one of the dumb things."
This year would have been the final season of the 10-year deal Rodriguez signed with Texas had he not been traded.
"I have nothing but great memories about Mr. Hicks," Rodriguez said. "I always wish him well. My memories of him are very fond."
