The San Francisco Giants placed pitcher Noah Lowry on the 15-day disabled list Friday, one day after the lefthander left his first start of the season early with a strained right oblique. The 25-year-old Lowry went 13-13 with a 3.78 ERA last season - his first full campaign in the majors. He led the Giants in wins, ERA, innings (204 2/3) and strikeouts (172). Lowry recorded just five outs Thursday, leaving after 27 pitches. He allowed one hit and struck out a pair.
