Yankees top prospect, catcher Jesus Montero, has been red-hot since a potential trade to the Mariners fell apart.
In late July, New York appeared to have an agreement with Seattle that would have sent Montero to the West Coast in a package for starting pitcher Cliff Lee.
However, the Rangers swooped in and eventually acquired Lee.
Over Montero's last eight games, he's hitting .389/.439/1.189 with three home runs and nine RBI for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Montero signed with the Yankees as a non-drafted free agent on Oct. 17, 2006.
Overall this season, Montero is hitting .282/.356/.840 with 13 home runs and 52 RBI.
