The Dodgers have designated outfielder Garret Anderson for assignment and purchased the contract of Jay Gibbons. Gibbons, 33, has revived his career with a solid performance at Triple-A Albuquerque, where he was batting .347 with 19 homers and 83 RBIs in 94 games. Anderson batted .181 in 80 games and 155 at-bats.
