The Pirates will call up third baseman Pedro Alvarez on Wednesday. Pittsburgh general manager Neal Huntington said Tuesday night that the prospect is expected to join the team for Wednesday's game against the White Sox. "He's on his way here, and assuming he has no travel issues, we'll make it official [on Wednesday] -- and have a whole lot more to say about it," Huntington said. "Sorry I don't have a lot more to say." The Pirates drafted Alvarez with the second overall pick in 2008.
