Red Sox pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday with tightness in his forearm, but the team is optimistic about the injury. "Fortunately, they looked at him and he tested really well," manager Terry Francona said Sunday. "Very encouraging. We have a day off [Monday] and we'll regroup, but it was very encouraging." There's no structural damage and he has not undergone an MRI at this point. Matsuzaka was scheduled to start on Saturday, but told the team that he felt tightness in his forearm.
