The Indians have optioned outfielder Matt LaPorta to Triple-A Columbus to make room for infielder Andy Marte. Cleveland made the move before Monday's game against Boston. LaPorta was among the prospects the Indians acquired from the Brewers in the CC Sabathia trade two years ago. He was batting .218 with one home run and seven RBIs in 35 games.
