Kerry Wood is set to resume closing for the Indians.
He passed his final test on Sunday when he struck out Detroit's Miguel Cabrera to end the seventh inning.
Wood has pitched twice in the seventh inning since being activated from the disabled list on Friday.
"I think [Sunday] was the last test: being able to pitch back-to-back and being able to throw strikes," Indians manager Manny Acta said. "The move is going to take effect Tuesday."
He suffered a muscle strain under his right shoulder and was placed on the disabled list April 3.
