The White Sox are entering the race to sign free-agent outfielder Johnny Damon. It was reported on Thursday that the Tigers were close to landing Damon thanks to a two-year, $14 million offer. MLB.com writes that there is some question as to whether Chicago general manager Ken Williams is playing games with rival Detroit. Any offer that the White Sox make to Damon is expected to be worth less than the $14 million he's being offered by Detroit.
