The Brewers are scheduled to go to a hearing with centerfielder Brady Clark before a three-man arbitration panel at 10 a.m. at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort. General manager Doug Melvin and assistant Gord Ash arrived there Tuesday to make final preparations for that hearing. Melvin said he had no reason to anticipate a late settlement with Clark, mainly because the sides hadn't negotiated since figures were filed on Jan. 17. "We said we wouldn't have any negotiations unless they came off their figure," Melvin said. "You either file numbers to settle or you file to go (to a hearing)."
