The Cardinals could look to Felipe Lopez losing free-agent infielder Mark DeRosa to the Giants on Monday. St. Louis is known to have interest in Lopez, a switch-hitting infielder that could soften the blow of losing DeRosa. Lopez has played mostly second base but has limited experience in left and 83 starts at third base. The Cardinals have also talked with agents about outfielders Xavier Nady and Jermaine Dye, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
