Contrary to popular belief, the Cardinals will not turn to free-agent left fielder Jason Bay if they are unable to re-sign Matt Holliday. Buster Olney of ESPN writes that St. Louis will likely focus on fortifying their starting rotation if they can't re-sign Holliday. With that said, some believe that Bay would be a much cheaper alternative to Holliday for the Cardinals.
