Free agent Carlos Delgado has delayed his return to active baseball, which could hamper his ability to find a team. Delgado was supposed to begin playing in the Dominican Republic this week, giving possible suitors the ability to monitor his health. Mets general manager Omar Minaya said on Monday that Delgado had not resumed playing and probably wouldn't until January. Delgado, who hasn't played since May 10, underwent surgery on his right hip in May.
