Adam LaRoche is not happy that the Atlanta Braves have yet to contact him regarding an extension. According to David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, LaRoche texted "Guess I should have hit .400 while I was there." LaRoche came over from Boston before last year's trade deadline in an exchange for Casey Kotchman. He put up very productive numbers with Atlanta including a .325 Avg, 12 HR, and 40 RBI's. The Braves lack of a pursuit of LaRoche is somewhat baffling, given the power he has shown and the success he has had in a Braves uniform. Atlanta's only other realistic option at first is Martin Prado, if Bobby Cox finds a new second baseman. One of their top prospects, Freddie Freeman, is expected to fill the spot in the coming years, but it is very doubtful he will be ready to be an everyday first baseman by the beginning of the 2010 season.
