Cardinals third baseman David R. Freese was driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.232, almost three times the legal limit in Missouri, when he was arrested over the weekend, according to a police report released Tuesday. He told the arresting officer that he had consumed seven beers, and was driving from downtown to his home near Lafayette High School in west St. Louis County. The report says that Officer Jeffrey Swatek of the Maryland Heights police stopped Freese at 2:41 a.m. Saturday after seeing his black Acura swerve from lane to lane twice without signaling properly.
