The Cardinals have continued to discuss re-signing free-agent outfielder Matt Holliday. Sources told Buster Olney of ESPN The Magazine that after internal discussions St. Louis intends to stand with a five-year offer. They could add to the offer's length or value, but the Cardinals reportedly believe that they don't have many competitors for Holliday. The Red Sox dropped out of contention on Monday when they signed John Lackey and Mike Cameron and the Mets appear to be more focused on Jason Bay.
