The Astros met with former Diamondbacks manager Bob Melvin about their vacant managerial position on Friday. Melvin is the fifth of 10 candidates that Houston plans to interview. He says that the Astros don't need as much rebuilding as the Arizona club that he took over after the 51-111 season. "We actually had to transition away from some of the veteran guys in Arizona and go to a younger group," Melvin said. "In a situation like this, where you have some veterans and some really good players, you're probably a little farther along."
