Tigers pitcher Edwin Jackson has struggled lately and there have been whispers that he's tipping pitches.
"There's a word out that he's tipping pitches," pitching coach Rick Knapp told the Detroit Free-Press. "We think he's giving things away that keep guys from swinging at his really good slider, (which) starts as a strike and goes for a ball."
He has allowed four home runs and 10 runs in his last two starts.
Knapp added that the Tigers have identified what Jackson had been doing to tip his pitches. The team also reminded the young pitcher that he's best when he follows through on his delivery.
"He has a turn in his delivery," Knapp said. "It's a matter of him not turning so much."
