Brian Schneider knows that he's unlikely to return to the Mets next season. "I won't be back," Schneider told the New York Daily News. "I'm okay with that. I'll easily get a job next year. I'm not worried about it. I'll get a job and just move on. Guys do that. I'm not going to retire. No way." Schneider, 32, has started just twice this month and has served as rookie Jose Thole's mentor. "It is what it is. There's nothing I can do," Schneider said. "There's nothing I can say. I'm giving time up to a guy who has never played in the big leagues before and I'm okay with that. He's a good kid. I'm glad he's getting a chance to play."
