The Blue Jays have placed Scott Downs on the disabled list, and will use Jason Frasor as their closer.
Downs was placed on the disabled list with an injured toe, an issue that forced him to spend time on the DL earlier this season.
"Instead of day to day, we'll go week to week," manager Cito Gaston said. "We want to make sure he's healthy when he comes back."
Frasor will handle a majority of the ninth-inning duties with Downs out, and Toronto recalled right-hander Jeremy Accardo to take his roster spot.
