The Phillies are giving Pedro Martinez less than $1 million for the remainder of the season, according to a pair of sources. However, Martinez could earn another $1.275 million if he spends the final 60 days of the season on the club's active roster, makes 15 starts and pitches between 75 and 100 innings. In addition, the deal will pay him an extra $250,000 if he makes 25 relief appearances. It will also give him bonuses if he wins any postseason awards.
