Angels pitcher John Lackey was ejected after throwing just two pitches against the Rangers on Saturday. Lackey's first pitch sailed behind the head of Ian Kinsler, and his second drilled the Texas leadoff hitter in the ribs. He was making his season debut after missing more than a month with a forearm strain. "I was definitely shocked," said Lackey. "I haven't pitched in six weeks, and I was amped up. I was trying to come in on him, but there was no intention at all to hit him or throw behind him." Home-plate umpire Bob Davidson didn't issue a warning after the first pitch, something that caught manager Mike Scioscia's eye after the game. "But there was no warning -- none," Scioscia said. "Evidently, he felt there was some history [between the teams] and that John was throwing at Kinsler, which was absurd."
