Jeffrey Maier famously used a glove to catch a fly ball off the bat of Derek Jeter against the Orioles in the 1996 postseason that was called on a home run. Brian Doyle didn't accomplish quite the same feat, but a ball off the bat of Jorge Posada hit Doyle, before hitting off the glove of Cleveland outfielder Trevor Crowe on Sunday. "I would have caught it," Crowe said after the game. The call was reviewed and upheld, giving the Yankees a 4-3 lead. If it was overturned, it likely would have been a ground rule double. Such a call would have given New York runners on second and third, and they still would have trailed 3-2. "My glove was over the wall and above it. But (Doyle) was above (my glove)," Crowe said. "I didn't even take into account having to get above the fans to catch it."
