Cubs manager Lou Piniella would definitely explore the idea of signing pitcher Curt Schilling if he does indeed have interest in pitching for the team. "This guy, he's a pro," Piniella said. "I don't know how accurate [the reports] are, but if you get a pitcher with his credentials and his winning habits, it would be something to explore." Schilling said over the weekend that he wants to pitch for a team that would present a "challenge." He singled out the Cubs, for their World Series drought, and the Rays, for their small market appeal.
