Free-agent outfielder Bobby Abreu is still waiting for the right offer as spring training stands just two weeks away.
"He's still an All-Star-caliber player," said Ed Wade, the last man to sign Abreu to a contract, with the Phillies seven years ago. "He's probably not the guy that stirs the drink, but if you have the ability to add Bobby Abreu to your lineup and your clubhouse, it's going to make all the players around him better."
Former All-Stars Garret Anderson, Joe Crede, Adam Dunn and Ben Sheets are also on the market.
"We've been on the market for a while, and we've had a lot of teams interested," said Abreu's agent, Peter Greenberg. "We just haven't gotten the right offer yet. It's been a very slow market over all."
