The Padres have landed free agent David Eckstein in an effort to bolster their infield. Eckstein agreed to a one-year deal reportedly with $850,000. "The biggest thing the Padres offered was opportunity," Eckstein said. "I wanted to play second base. It's something in my career that I've always wanted to do. That's what they were willing to offer." He can earn an additional $150,000 in incentives.
