John Smoltz says he'll always cherish his time in Atlanta but believes that the Braves took him for granted and never thought he'd leave. "Twenty-two years is a long time, and I don't think you ever take it for granted and I never will," he said. Smoltz accepted a $5.5 million, one-year contract from the Red Sox this month. "I have no ill feelings toward anybody or harbor any bitterness," he said. "I want the Braves to go to the World Series and certainly now I want them to play against the Boston Red Sox and then let fate take care of the rest after that."
