The Blue Jays have made a bold move by preparing to offer A.J. Burnett a new four-year deal to keep him with the team. The proposed contract would add two years and $30 million to Burnett's existing pact, which still has two years left. The package would total $54 million over four years. Burnett has the power to opt out of his current deal at the conclusion of the season. He is owed $12 million in each of the next two seasons, and the deal would pay him $15 million in the final two years of the deal. "Our first priority is to try and keep A.J.," GM J.P. Ricciardi said Saturday.
