Red Sox starter Josh Beckett is expected to return to the mound on Tuesday against the Yankees after having his scheduled start on Saturday pushed back, according to The Associated Press.
Boston Manager Terry Francona described the soreness as a "crick" in the pitcher's elbow that he developed while sleeping.
"You wake up and have some inflammation. That's basically what it is," Francona said. "Not an aneurysm or a clot."
The team is leaving open the possibility that Beckett could be pushed back once again.
