Nearly two months after being fired as the manager of the Mets, Willie Randolph returned to the field in New York on Saturday and expressed his desire to manage again, according to The Associated Press. "I'd love to manage again, see if I could get back on the wheel again," Randolph said before participating in Old-Timers' Day at Yankee Stadium. The event marked the first time he has appeared in public since being fired in the middle of June by the Mets. "I grew up here. This is where I learned how to be a winner here, be a champion here," Randolph said of the Yankees.
