Agent Scott Boras claims that he didn't orchestrate the trade that sent outfielder Manny Ramirez from the Red Sox to the Dodgers, according to The Los Angeles Times. "Manny did not hire me to get him traded," Boras said. Ramirez hired Boras last winter, apparently preparing for the possibilty that he'd enter free agency in the winter of 2008/2009. "I think he's absolutely had a hand in this," pitcher Curt Schilling said of the agent. "Scott Boras stands to make zero dollars if the Red Sox pick up Manny's options the next two years." "I don't know Curt Schilling, other than the fact that, way back when in Philadelphia, he said signing J.D. Drew would be a huge mistake," Boras fired back.
