Derek Jeter got some rare rest on Tuesday night during the Yankees' loss to the Rangers, according to The Hartford Courant.
"Days off always help," Jeter said. "How much? Who knows."
He never likes to sit out, but the team is in the middle of a rough stretch of games.
"I just told him he played a lot of baseball in the last seven, eight days, you know with the split doubleheader and him playing every inning," manager Joe Girardi said. "I just thought it best to give him a day off before the [All-Star] break."
