Carlos Delgado broke a Mets' team record on Friday afternoon when he recorded nine RBI's against the Yankees in the Bronx, according to The New York Times. The Mets took game one of the doubleheader 15-6, before losing 9-0 to the Yankees at Shea Stadium on Friday night. Delgado hit a grand slam in the sixth inning and clubbed a three-run home run in the eighth that put the game out of reach. "Here we are, trying to run, do all these things, and we?ve got this kind of power sitting there ready to explode," Manuel said of Delgado, who broke Dave Kingman?s single-game team record of eight runs batted in, set on June 4, 1976. "He just put us on his back today."
