Cubs' Manager Lou Pinella plans to stick with closer Kerry Wood despite his struggles on the mound, according to The Chicago Tribune. Wood blew back-to-back saves this weekend against the Pirates, and many are wondering when Carlos Marmol will fill the role as the team's closer. "Woody has a job here," Piniella said of Wood before Sunday's loss. "That's his role. ... I have confidence in him. He has to go out and do it." "It's tough enough doing the closer's job when you're not putting yourself into trouble," Pinella said. "We have to figure out how we can help him [avoid] it. I'm not a pitcher, but it's the third time it's happened, and it's cost us every time."
