The Kansas City Royals have traded left-handed pitcher Jorge De La Rosa and cash to the Colorado Rockies in exchange for a player to be named. Since De La Rosa is not currently on the Royals 40-man roster, he will be assigned from Omaha to the Class AAA Colorado Springs roster. De La Rosa, 27, has spent the opening portion of the 2008 season with Omaha (AAA) and went 3-0 with a 1.64 ERA (22 IP, 18 H, 4 ER, 7 BB, 23 SO) in four starts. The resident of Nuevo Leon, Mexico was 11-16 with a 5.64 ERA in 36 outings (33 starts) for the Royals in 2006 and 2007 after being acquired on July 25, 2006 from Milwaukee for infielder Tony Graffanino.
