Paul Konerko has vowed to avoid discussing any and all contracts this season, and he's sticking to it, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. "We all know the business of the game sometimes doesn't take into account when someone wants to stay because when the numbers are crunched, it might not work out," Konerko said. "But we're not going to go down that road this year. We're not going to start talking about contracts and all that stuff." He was being asked about the future of teammate Joe Crede, who is in the final year of his contract. "[Crede] knows all of his teammates want him back, but if he's not, then let's try and make this a heck of a year. Guys like Joe don't grow on trees, and if it works out, hopefully he'll be in a White Sox uniform for a while. But again, not a topic we feel like discussing," Konerko added.
