Finally, all of the scenarios are complete and we can just sit back and watch another great October of baseball. In this year?s edition of the playoffs, every team has made at least one World Series, so the newness will be gone this year. Now, who will be left standing for the League Championship Series? Read on to find out.
New York Yankees vs. Detroit Tigers
These two teams were the best in the American League for the majority of the season, but while the Yankees were separating themselves for the top spot, the Tigers sputtered to the Wild Card. The Tigers have a great manager in Jim Leyland and a deep starting rotation to ride on with, but the Yankees have an All-Star team this year. The Tigers will make it interesting, but too much talent up and down the order and Rivera at the end of the game leads the Yankees to the ALCS.

Minnesota Twins vs. Oakland A?s
The Twins have been on fire for about four months now and they just don?t seem to slow down, even after losing stud rookie Francisco Liriano. The A?s also have had pitching injuries with Rich Harden, but both squads will look to lean on lefties, Johan Santana for Minnesota and Barry Zito for Oakland, to keep the games close enough for their respective offenses to get timely hits. These are mirror images of teams from payroll size to pitching dependence and two managers who know how to keep a calm hand. This will be the most exciting series of the first round.

New York Mets vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
Both of these teams were considered the favorites in the National League at some point, but sloppy play down the stretch from the Dodgers and injuries to the Mets have put a hold on both of those plans. The Mets have the best offense in the league by far with Carlos Delgado, Carlos Beltran, and David Wright, while the Dodgers are relying heavily on many of their young players who were once thought to be a year away. The deciding factor will be which teams pitching staff can hold on long enough throughout this series and it might even come down to which bullpen can protect the leads best. I?ll go with Billy Wagner and Company.

San Diego Padres vs. St. Louis Cardinals
The Cardinals are spiraling out of control right now and ahead of them is one of the hottest teams in the National League, the San Diego Padres. The Padres are pitching well, getting good production at the plate, and Hoffman is having a career year in what is a hall of fame career. Still, any team that has Chris Carpenter and Albert Pujols, you can never count out a team that does have a top manager in Tony LaRussa.
