The Opsera is a statistic RealGM's Chris Reina created in order to objectively rank teams by how well they hit (OPS) and pitch (ERA).
In order to determine a team's Opsera, we take their OPS, multiply that number by 10 to move the decimal point over one place to the right and then subtract the team's ERA from that number.
Below are the final rankings through Thursday, May 26th's games:

The Yankees have won a few games with small ball as of late, but they still lead the majors in home runs by nearly 20 dingers.

Their offense has woken up since Chase Utley returned to the lineup even though the second baseman is hitting just .143/.200/.357 with two hits in four games.

The Red Sox jumped up nine spots thanks to a tremendous week. They went 5-2 and outscored their opponents by an astounding 57-23 margin.

The A’s still have one of the best pitching staffs in the league statistically despite all their injuries, but their bats haven’t done much of anything. They hit just .238 as a team (25th) and are tied with the Mariners for the fewest home runs in the game (27).

Jose Bautista has 10 home runs this month despite missing five games and earning 13 free passes. Since April 13, he hasn’t gone more than four games without a homer.
